# Legacy Twitter public mention notifications

Recognise the historical Twitter public-mention notification feed and distinguish it from direct-message conversations.

*Release 3.3 · admin, operator*

## What it is

INSIDE 3.3 retains a historical Twitter public-mention feed intended to show notifications for posts addressed to a configured account. It is separate from Twitter direct messaging. Its availability should be confirmed with Powerfront before you rely on it.

## Who uses it and why

- Operators on an older setup may need to identify public-post notifications.
- Administrators need to distinguish this historical feed from a connected private messaging account.

## Where to find it

There is no verified active Settings menu for configuring this historical feed in 3.3. Ask Powerfront to check an existing setup and confirm whether public-mention notifications are available.

## How it works

The historical feed searches for public posts addressed to the configured account. Qualifying posts become notifications containing the author's display name, text, profile image and posting time.

It filters results against a supplied time and remembers the greatest returned post identifier during the browser session. This does not establish that notifications remain deduplicated after a browser refresh.

## Configure it

Ask Powerfront to investigate the historical setup and provider connection. Connecting Twitter direct messages does not establish that public-mention monitoring is active.

## Limits and good to know

- This is a legacy capability whose current provider availability is unconfirmed.
- A public-post notification is not evidence that a customer ticket or direct-message conversation was created.
- This feed has no verified reply or moderation workflow.
- Do not rely on an empty notification list as proof that there were no public mentions.

## Depends on and works with

### This feature uses

- **Requires** [Operator notifications and alerts](CON-018.md): Historical public mentions appear through INSIDE's notification feed.

## FAQ and troubleshooting

### Does connecting Twitter direct messages enable public mentions?

### Can I reply to a public post from this notification feed?

No reply workflow is established for this historical feed. It should be treated as a notification capability only.

### Why are no public-post notifications appearing?

The historical configuration, feed loading or provider connection may be unavailable. Ask Powerfront to investigate before relying on the feed.

### Can notifications repeat after refreshing the browser?

The historical feed keeps its latest post identifier within the browser session.
