# Live visitor and operator floor

View live visitors and operators on the floor and open a person to inspect their activity or conversation.

*Release 3.3 · operator, supervisor*

**Settings › Floor › Floor Settings**

## What it is

The floor shows visitors and operators as moving avatars. Their position and indicators help you see activity and find people who need attention. Select a person to open their details and available conversation actions.

## Who uses it and why

- Operators watch live activity and open visitors or conversations.
- Supervisors inspect activity across the visible floor and check operator states.

## Where to find it

The floor is the main visual area of the console. On mobile, use the **Floor** tab. Where available, **World Map** shows visitors by their location information.

The **Chat**, **Manager**, **Settings** or **Stats Bar** role grants access to display preferences in **Settings › Floor › Floor Settings**.

## How it works

1. Check your current website and channel.
2. Point to an avatar to see available visitor information or a conversation preview.
3. Select the visitor to open their details and conversation, where available.
4. Use the selected person's controls for permitted actions.

The floor updates as visitor activity, conversations and operator status change. Selecting a visitor also loads further information for that person.

Desktop supports pointer and drag interactions with floor avatars. Opening a person and choosing an explicit conversation action is the clearest way to check what work you are about to handle.

In **World Map**, point to a plotted visitor to see their information. This view uses location data rather than the positions in the illustrated floor scene.

## Configure it

Open **Settings › Floor › Floor Settings** to change your **Local** display options, then save. Ask Powerfront to change shared defaults. The **Settings** role grants access to the floor's industry scene in **Settings › Floor › Industry Type**.

Use **Visitor Collisions** to change how avatars avoid obstacles where the renderer supports it. Use floor filters when you need fewer visitors on screen.

### Settings

| Setting | Where | Applies to | Default | Who can change it | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visitor Collisions | Settings › Floor › Floor Settings › Local | operator | On unless the website default is changed, until you save a local preference | Settings role, Manager role, Chat role, Top Stats role | Changes whether floor avatars avoid overlapping scene objects and other avatars where supported. |

## Limits and good to know

- Positions in the floor illustration represent activity in the scene, not physical visitor locations.
- A visitor leaving or losing their connection can change or remove their floor representation.
- Selecting a person does not itself send a message or grant conversation permissions.
- **Remove From Floor** asks for confirmation and removes the floor representation. Use the conversation's own controls when you intend to end a conversation.
- Floor presence is not a complete historical customer list. Search and history provide other ways to find people.

## FAQ and troubleshooting

### Why is a visitor missing from the floor?

Check the website, channel and floor filters. The visitor may also have left, disconnected or been removed from the floor.

### Does the position tell me where the visitor lives?

No. Use **World Map** and visitor location details for location information.

### Why do avatars move when I select someone?

The illustrated floor arranges people and interactions within its layout. This movement is part of the display.

### Will Remove From Floor end the chat?

It is a floor action. Use the conversation's end or resolution controls to finish the conversation.
