# Favourite reports and column selection

Star useful reports for quick access and choose which report columns to display and export.

*Release 3.3 · admin, operator, supervisor*

**Reports › Favorites** · **Reports › Share Report**

## What it is

**Favorites** keeps useful reports together in the report menu. Column controls let you hide optional columns and change the order in supported result tables. Your favourites are personal; the persistent default column layout for a website is managed by Powerfront.

## Who uses it and why

- Operators keep frequently used reports easy to find.
- Supervisors arrange report columns around the measures they review.
- Administrators ask Powerfront to set consistent website report layouts where needed.

## Where to find it

Open **Reports › Report Menu**. Select the star beside a report, then use **Favorites** to show starred reports.

Within a supported report result, open the column menu beside the table controls to choose visible columns. Some tables also let you drag column headers to reorder them.

## How it works

1. Select a report's empty star to add it to **Favorites**. Select the filled star to remove it.
2. INSIDE saves the changed favourite list automatically. You can reorder favourites using the drag handles shown in the list.
3. Open a report and run it with the filters you need.
4. Open the column menu and select or clear optional columns.
5. Drag headers where the table supports reordering, then use **Share Report** if you need the selected layout in a download.

INSIDE loads your saved favourite list first. If you have no personal list, it can use a website-provided list as a starting point.

For columns, the report's website default supplies the initial layout. Temporary choices in the open reporting workspace can take precedence. Mandatory columns stay visible.

## Configure it

With the **Reports** role, you can change your own favourite list and temporary column display in **Reports**.

Ask Powerfront to save a shared column layout or reset it. The Powerfront actions are labelled **Set as Company's Default View** and **Reset to Default**, but the saved layout applies to that report for the selected website. It is not your personal saved filter set.

## Limits and good to know

- A favourite is a shortcut to a report. It does not save a date range, filter set or comparison period.
- Hiding a column changes presentation, not which records match the report filters.
- Mandatory columns cannot be hidden through the column menu.
- Column selection and reordering depend on the report's table type.
- Header tooltips, detail links and conditional colours are supplied by the report. This workspace does not provide a general rule editor for those styles.
- Shared defaults can affect other people opening the same website's report.

## FAQ and troubleshooting

### Why are my favourites different from a colleague's?

INSIDE saves favourites for each operator. A website list is only a fallback when there is no personal list.

### Why did opening a favourite not restore yesterday's filters?

Favourites store report shortcuts. Select the dates and filters you need after opening the report.

### Why can I not hide a particular column?

The report marks some columns as mandatory so essential identifying information stays visible.

### Why did my column layout change when I reopened the report?

Your temporary display choices may no longer apply, or the website default may have changed. Ask Powerfront if you need a persistent shared layout.
