# Live show setup and scheduling

Prepare scheduled or unscheduled live shows, choose their content and make eligible shows discoverable to visitors.

*Release 3.3 · admin, operator, visitor*

**Settings › Live Shows › Shows** · **Settings › Live Shows › Shows Feed** · **Settings › Live Shows › Accounts**

## What it is

**Live Shows** lets you prepare a broadcast before bringing hosts and visitors together. A show holds its name, schedule, account, presentation and content. You can also use a **Store Template** to create an ad hoc show when the relevant permission and setup are available.

## Who uses it and why

- Operators with **Live Shows** prepare, copy and open shows.
- Administrators arrange account setup with Powerfront and manage operator permissions.
- Visitors discover publicised shows or use a shared show link.

## Where to find it

With the **Live Shows** role, open **Settings › Live Shows › Shows**. Use **Settings › Live Shows › Shows Feed** for feed presentation. Powerfront manages streaming accounts at **Settings › Live Shows › Accounts**.

## How it works

1. Create a show and select its account, name and website address.
2. Add a schedule for a planned broadcast, or leave it unscheduled and provide a passcode.
3. Prepare content in **Showcase** and any presentation choices in **Advanced**.
4. Save, then use **Get Link** to obtain a shareable show link.
5. Open the show when ready. Preparing or scheduling a show does not itself start broadcasting.

The show list supports search and status or type filtering. Available actions include copy, **Revive**, **Cancel Show** and delete. The console restricts actions on shows already in progress.

**Publicize Show** makes eligible shows available for visitor discovery. Visitors can see publicised scheduled shows and relevant pre-show, live or paused shows. A recently cancelled show can remain visible as cancelled for up to a day.

## Configure it

Ask Powerfront to enable live shows and provide an enabled streaming account. With the **Settings** role, give the people managing shows the **Live Shows** role.

In **Shows**, select **New** and complete **Show Name**, **URL** and **Account**. For a scheduled show, provide **Start Date**, **Start Time** and **Duration**. The editor rejects a start in the past. An unscheduled **Live** show needs a **Passcode** of 6 to 20 characters.

Choose **Publicize Show** if the show should appear in visitor discovery. Prepare its **Showcase** and save. Use **Store Template** only where **Allow to Start Show from App** is granted and the ad hoc show setup is available.

## Limits and good to know

- Show names are limited to 60 characters.
- Scheduled shows need a duration of at least 15 minutes. The custom-duration editor accepts up to 2,880 minutes.
- Share links can include access to a passcode-protected show. Share them only with the intended audience.
- Cancelling a scheduled show clears its registration list. The console warns before cancellation.
- A show definition and each broadcast run are separate. Reusing a definition does not mean an earlier broadcast is still running.

## FAQ and troubleshooting

### Why is my show missing from the visitor list?

Check **Publicize Show**, the show status and its schedule. Saving a private or unscheduled show does not automatically place it in visitor discovery.

### Why does an unscheduled show require a passcode?

An unscheduled **Live** show requires a code of 6 to 20 characters. Add a valid passcode before saving.

### Why can I not edit a live show?

Shows in progress restrict editing. Prepare the definition before opening the broadcast and use the live console for live controls.

### Does cancelling keep my registrations?

Cancelling a scheduled show clears the registration list. Review the cancellation confirmation before proceeding.

### Why can I not see Store Template shows?

Check **Allow to Start Show from App** within your **Live Shows** permissions.
