# Live show broadcasting

Broadcast a live show with hosts and viewers, including visitors accompanied by an advisor.

*Release 3.3 · admin, operator, supervisor, visitor*

**Settings › Live Shows › Shows** · **Settings › Live Shows › Accounts**

## What it is

A live broadcast brings hosts and viewers into the prepared show. Hosts control when the show starts, pauses and ends. An advisor can accompany a visitor from a one-to-one browser call and help them attend.

## Who uses it and why

- Operators host shows or invite their current visitor to attend with them.
- Supervisors with **Live Shows** access can join as hosts and help run a show.
- Administrators ask Powerfront to set account capacity and use the **Settings** role to manage operator permissions.
- Visitors join independently or accept an advisor's invitation.

## Where to find it

With the **Live Shows** role, open a show from **Settings › Live Shows › Shows**. The host console includes **Showcase**, **Questions**, **Answered** and **Participants**, with **Hosts** and **Attendees** lists.

Powerfront manages account capacity at **Settings › Live Shows › Accounts**.

## How it works

1. Open the prepared show to enter **PRE-SHOW**. Opening the show creates or joins its live broadcast session.
2. Check host camera and microphone states, then use **Press Play to Start Show** to begin broadcasting.
3. Use **Pause Show** to pause and the play control to resume. Hosts can change the focused host and their broadcast audio or video.
4. Use **End Show** to finish the broadcast for everyone. **Leave Show** leaves your own attendance and is a separate action.

Hosts present the show; viewers attend. An operator in a one-to-one browser call acts as an advisor and can send their visitor an invitation. The visitor can accept or decline, and the attendance keeps the advisor and visitor associated. Rejoin handling can restore an existing participant while the show remains available.

The account checks its limits before admitting a new show, host or viewer. An existing participant who is still recognised as active can reconnect without being treated as a new admission.

## Configure it

Ask Powerfront to configure and enable the streaming account, set **Max Streams**, **Max Streamers** and **Max Viewers**, and confirm the agreed capacity. Ask Powerfront to enable **Show Total Viewers** if visitors should see the count.

Use the **Settings** role to manage operator **Live Shows** access. Prepare the show and account selection before opening it. For advisor-assisted attendance, first establish the one-to-one browser call with the visitor.

### Settings

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Show Total Viewers | Settings › Live Shows › Accounts › Default Show Settings | website | Off | Powerfront, on request | Displays the live viewer count in the show experience. |
| Max Streams | Settings › Live Shows › Accounts › Stream Limits | website | 0 streams; no shows can open | Powerfront, on request | Limits simultaneous live shows on this account. Powerfront must set a positive capacity before shows can open. |
| Max Streamers | Settings › Live Shows › Accounts › Stream Limits | website | 0 hosts; no hosts can join | Powerfront, on request | Limits hosts admitted to a show on this account. Powerfront must set a positive capacity before hosts can join. |

### Permissions

| Permission | Lets you |
|---|---|
| Live Shows | Manage and host live shows and use their host controls. |

## Limits and good to know

- A viewer limit of zero or less becomes two. It does not mean unlimited. The supported account ceiling is 5,000 viewers.
- Host and simultaneous-show limits depend on the configured account.
- A participant who stops sending activity for more than 60 seconds is eligible for disconnection.
- A show with no active host for more than five minutes is eligible to end automatically.
- A visitor currently attending with an advisor cannot switch to another tab as a separate connected attendance.

## Depends on and works with

## FAQ and troubleshooting

### Why can I not open another show?

The account may have reached **Max Streams**. End an unused broadcast or ask Powerfront to confirm the account's capacity.

### Why can a visitor not join?

Check the show state, access details and viewer limit. The visitor also needs to complete any required join form.

### Does leaving the show end it for everyone?

**Leave Show** and **End Show** are separate actions. Use **End Show** when you intend to finish the broadcast for everyone.

### Why did the show close after all hosts disconnected?

INSIDE checks for abandoned broadcasts. No active host for more than five minutes makes the show eligible to close.

### Can my visitor decline an advisor invitation?

Yes. Advisor-assisted attendance asks the visitor to accept or decline.
