Finding your way around Settings
Find available administration screens and individual settings through the searchable settings menu.
What it is
The settings menu groups INSIDE's administration screens and lets you search for a destination or individual setting. What you can see and edit depends on your account permissions and the website's enabled features.
Who uses it and why
Users with the Settings role locate configuration screens and maintain the client-managed website settings permitted by their delegated screen access. Supervisors open the team and management screens available to them. Operators use the menu for personal account options and any delegated administration tasks.
Where to find it
Open the settings menu in your operator workspace. Use Search settings at the top or open a category such as General Settings, Floor, Chat, Email, Text/SMS, Live Shows, Account or Voice.
How it works
- Check that you are working in the intended website.
- Type a screen name or a relevant keyword in Search settings.
- Choose a result to open its screen or setting. Search distinguishes menu destinations from individual settings.
- Review the current values. Where editing is allowed, change the required fields and save using that screen's controls.
Searching can match additional keywords, including some integration names. You can also browse categories directly. Enabled features and roles affect the destinations available to your account.
Editors can provide language tabs, searchable selectors, switches and lists. Some lists offer sorting, search and selected-record deletion. These controls vary by screen.
Configure it
There is no separate setup needed for menu search. A user with the Settings role and Operators permission grants the relevant client roles and delegated screen permissions to your account. Powerfront may also need to enable a website capability before its screen becomes available.
If a client-managed screen is view-only, use it to inspect the configuration and ask a user with the required role and editing permission to make the change. Access to one screen does not grant access to every screen in its category.
Permissions
| Permission | Lets you |
|---|---|
| Settings | Opens the settings destinations permitted by the account's delegated screen access. |
| View Only | Allows inspection while preventing editing in supported Settings or Manager screens. |
Limits and good to know
- Admin Only marks screens and controls managed by Powerfront. Ask Powerfront to change them for you.
- A visible destination does not mean that an integration is already configured.
- Some older chat configuration appears under Legacy Settings within Chat.
- A selector may retain a previously selected unavailable item while hiding other unavailable choices. Review it before replacing it.
- Save and delete actions still depend on the target feature's access rules.

FAQ and troubleshooting
Why can my colleague see a screen that I cannot?
For client-managed screens, compare your website access, roles and delegated permissions. Also check that you are viewing the same website. Powerfront-managed screens are unavailable to client accounts; ask Powerfront to make changes there.
Why can I open a screen but not save changes?
You may have view-only access. Ask a user with the Settings role and Operators permission to check your role and permissions for that client-managed screen.
Why does searching return no results?
Try the visible screen name or a shorter keyword. The destination may also be unavailable to your account or disabled for the website.
Does finding an integration in the menu mean it is ready to use?
No. For a client-managed integration, have a user with the required role and editing permission check its account and connection details. Ask Powerfront to check Powerfront-managed integrations for you.
