Operator Log
Review recorded operator actions, account and configuration changes, exports and personal-data actions to investigate what happened.
What it is
Operator Log shows selected operational and security-sensitive activity associated with operators on a website. Each row identifies when an action happened, the account associated with it, its type and action, and any additional detail. You can use it to investigate account changes, exports and personal-data handling, but it is not a complete record of everything an account has done.
Who uses it and why
- If you administer INSIDE, use it to investigate account, permission, website-access and configuration changes.
- If you supervise operators, use it to review recorded sign-ins, status changes, exports and customer-data handling.
Where to find it
With the Reports role and access to the relevant website, open Reports › General › Operator Log. The result title is Security Reports - Operator Log.
Manage report access at Settings › Account › Operators, which is available to the Settings and Manager roles, subject to their delegated permissions.
Use Audit for contact and conversation search and available deletion or recovery actions. Use History › Availability Log for availability history.
How it works
- Select the website in Reports.
- Choose Operator Log, then set Date From and Date To.
- Narrow the results with Operator, Log Types and Log Actions as needed. Choose the date ordering offered by the report.
- Select Apply Filters.
- Read Date/Time, Operator (ID), Type, Action and Data.
Activity categories include operators, websites, teams, events, reports and other configured services. Recorded actions include additions, removals, changes, sign-ins, sign-outs, status changes, imports and exports. Account activity includes password changes, locking or unlocking, and selected role or website-access changes. Sign-out detail can include its reason and connection information.
For change entries, the detail view can show previous and new values, or named additions and removals such as skill or subsite access changes. Long entries show Show More...; select Show Less... to collapse them again.
Standard report downloads and email exports are also recorded. Entries can show successful export details, incorrect verification codes, denied requests, row counts or file sizes. Check Data for the outcome rather than treating every export entry as a success.
Manual personal-data deletion, recovery and permanent deletion create action records identifying the affected item. Personal-data download requests have a separate access record. A request record shows that a request occurred; it does not prove that the browser received the complete file or identify the intended recipient.
Configure it
No separate logging switch is needed to read this report. To set up access, someone with the Settings or Manager role can review the operator's Reports role and website assignments at Settings › Account › Operators, within their delegated permissions.
Use report filters to narrow each investigation. There is no universal client retention control for this history in this feature. Ask Powerfront to confirm available historical coverage and retention when you need older or separately recorded activity.

Limits and good to know
- The log contains recorded actions. It is not a guarantee that every action or every field change has an entry.
- Some Powerfront-only activity is omitted from client report results.
- The operator shown is the account associated with the action. Shared accounts make individual attribution harder.
- Data varies by action. Some rows contain a short description; others contain detailed changes. Targets and outcomes are not equally detailed in every entry.
- Operator time-zone preferences take precedence where configured; otherwise the report uses the website time zone.
- Results are paged, with up to 500 entries per page. There is no All page-size option for this report.
- Long change details and exports can contain personal information or configuration values. Review the content before sharing it.
- An action record does not certify that every related file or external copy was erased. Export creation and download-request records do not prove delivery.
- The report does not establish a universal retention period or a tamper-proof audit guarantee.
- This report is separate from conversation search, availability history and reporting health information.

FAQ and troubleshooting
How do I find who changed a setting or an operator's access?
Select the relevant website and dates, then narrow Operator, Log Types and Log Actions. Review the matching Data entries for changed values, roles or website access. Expand long entries with Show More....
Why can I not open the report or select a website?
Ask someone with the Settings or Manager role to review your Reports role and website assignments at Settings › Account › Operators, within their delegated permissions.
Why can I not find an action or a failed sign-in?
Only recorded actions appear, and the report is not a complete stream of failed sign-in attempts. Account locking can be recorded. A missing entry does not prove that an action never happened. Check the website, date range and filters, then ask Powerfront to investigate a specific unexplained event.
Why does the time differ from a colleague's view?
Check your operator time-zone preferences. Where configured, they take precedence over the website time zone.
How do I read or download long change details?
Select Show More... to expand a collapsed entry and Show Less... to collapse it again. Use Share Report after applying your filters to download or email results. Long Excel cells can continue on additional rows, so keep those rows with the original entry.
Why is a deletion not visible in customer search?
Customer search and activity history have different purposes. Use Operator Log to review recorded actions, and Audit › Recover for available recoverable items.
Does an export entry prove the recipient received the file?
No. Check the entry for verification failures or denial details. Even successful export creation and a separate download-request record do not establish complete delivery to the intended recipient.
Can I choose how long these security records are kept?
There is no universal client retention control for this history in this feature. Ask Powerfront to confirm the available retention for the records you need.
