What it is

Saved filters let you reuse search criteria without entering them again. Queue and history filters appear as named tabs. Mobile visitor search has its own saved shortcuts.

Who uses it and why

  • Operators save the queues and visitor searches they use regularly.
  • Supervisors save history criteria for repeated checks.
  • Administrators with the Settings or Manager role use the same controls and manage operator search restrictions.

Where to find it

Use Save Filter in the conversation queue or history search. In mobile visitor search, use Save as shortcut, then find the result under Shortcuts.

How it works

  1. Set the criteria in the relevant search screen.
  2. Run the search and choose Save Filter, or Save as shortcut for a mobile visitor search.
  3. Enter Filter Name or Name. Queue filters can also save a Default Sort Field and sort direction.
  4. Select the saved tab or shortcut to run those criteria again.

Use Update Filter to change an existing queue filter, or Delete Filter to remove it. The history editor also offers Save as New when updating a saved filter. Deleting a mobile shortcut asks you to confirm Delete this saved search?

Configure it

Save filters in the website and operator account where you want to use them. Queue and history tabs are retrieved for your current operator and website.

With the Settings or Manager role, you can review Hide Search and Restrict Search under Settings › Account › Operators. Restricted mobile searches must include My Customers / Favorites, My Engagements or My Sales, including when you use a saved shortcut.

Hide Search Hides visitor search for an operator using the Store App.
Restrict Search Limits Store App visitor searches to criteria involving your customers, engagements or sales.

Limits and good to know

  • A filter saves criteria, so its results can change as visitors and conversations change.
  • Queue, history and mobile visitor shortcuts are separate lists.
  • Queue and history filter names accept up to 50 characters in the editor.
  • Mobile searches discard online-only criteria such as current basket value when searching offline visitors.
  • Removing a filter does not remove the visitors or conversations it found.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Why have my saved results changed?

The saved filter runs a fresh search. It does not preserve a copy of earlier results.

Why is a shortcut rejected in the Store App?

Restrict Search requires a criterion involving your customers, engagements or sales. Add one of those criteria and search again.

Why can I not see my queue filter in mobile visitor search?

Mobile visitor shortcuts are separate from queue and history filters. Save the visitor search in the mobile search screen.

Does deleting a filter delete conversations?

No. It removes the saved criteria only.
