Dark mode for the console
Choose a darker console appearance for your own desktop or mobile workspace.
What it is
Dark Mode changes the appearance of your console to use darker backgrounds. It is your personal preference. Desktop and mobile keep separate choices.
Who uses it and why
Operators can choose the appearance they prefer for their workspace. The choice changes the console display without changing conversation messages or customer records.
Where to find it
On desktop, open Settings › Account › My Account and find Dark Mode. On mobile, open More › Account Settings and use Dark Mode there.
How it works
The desktop console applies a saved account or browser dark preference when you open it. If your device prefers a dark appearance and you have no previous dark choice or prompt response, INSIDE can offer Try now and No thanks.
Choosing Try now enables dark mode and saves your choice. No thanks leaves the appearance unchanged; you can enable it later in My Account.
The console updates its logo, floor presentation and stats bar. It also sends the theme choice to the release updates panel, video view and supported embedded integrations. Individual embedded views determine how they use it.
Configure it
Open My Account, turn Dark Mode on or off, then save your account changes. On mobile, use the separate switch in Account Settings and select Save.
Changing the device's system appearance does not automatically replace an existing INSIDE choice. Use INSIDE's switch to change the console appearance.

Limits and good to know
- Desktop and mobile choices are independent.
- The browser remembers dark mode as well as the account. If the appearance differs between devices, check the switch in the affected browser.
- Email source previews keep a light reading background.
- Some embedded content can retain its own colours.
- On desktop, INSIDE may remove background blur for the current session if that effect makes the visitor panel slow to draw.

FAQ and troubleshooting
Why did dark mode not follow my device's new appearance?
INSIDE uses its saved choice. Change Dark Mode in My Account to choose a different appearance.
Why is mobile still light after I changed desktop?
Mobile has a separate preference. Change Dark Mode in More › Account Settings on mobile.
Why is an email preview white?
Email source previews deliberately keep a light reading background, including while the console uses dark mode.
Why is an embedded panel still light?
Theme support depends on the embedded panel. The console can send its choice to supported integrations, but each panel controls its own presentation.
Why has the blurred background disappeared?
INSIDE can remove that visual effect for the session when drawing performance is slow. This does not remove the visitor panel or its controls.
