What it is

Product Cards put product information inside a conversation. A card can show images, descriptions, prices, availability and selectable product options. Where a storefront action is connected, visitors can choose an available variant and add it to their basket.

Who uses it and why

Operators share relevant products without asking visitors to search again. Visitors compare products, select options and follow the available product or purchase actions.

Where to find it

Operators use the product browsing area beside the conversation and add products to the reply. Visitors see the resulting cards in chat.

A user with the Settings role manages appearance in Settings › Commerce › Product Cards and selects Product card configuration in Settings › Chat › Themes, under Rich Content.

How it works

  1. The operator finds a product and selects Add to reply, or adds it by clicking, dragging or copying the supported product content into the reply.
  2. After the message is sent, the visitor sees the product card. Multiple products can be presented together in a navigable list.
  3. The visitor selects the required options. Unavailable combinations cannot be chosen as available purchases.
  4. If offered, the visitor chooses a valid quantity and selects Add to cart. Some presentations first offer Choose options.
  5. INSIDE displays the action result. A successful cart action shows Added to cart; a failed or unavailable action shows an error instead.

Product imagery, pricing and availability come from the connected commerce data. Display settings control their presentation.

Configure it

Ask a user with the Settings role to choose a product-card configuration and attach it to the visitor's theme. Your commerce integration must supply the product information and any supported basket actions.

Check a product with multiple options as well as an unavailable variant. Verify the action on the actual storefront; the theme preview can simulate an action and does not establish that the shop's basket has changed.

Limits and good to know

  • Product information and available actions depend on the connected commerce provider and storefront integration.
  • The visitor must select an available combination and a valid quantity before the cart action can proceed.
  • Quantity rules can include a minimum, maximum and increment supplied for that action.
  • A product card without a cart action directs the visitor to open the product page to purchase.
  • An unavailable action does not mean a purchase succeeded. Use the success or error shown by the action.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Why does the card ask the visitor to choose options?

The product needs an available variant selection before it can be added. Choose the required options shown on the card.

Why can a colour or size not be selected?

That choice may have no available variant for the current combination. Check the product's availability in the connected catalogue.

Why is Add to cart missing or unavailable?

The content may not include a supported cart action, the storefront integration may not provide it, or the selection and quantity may be invalid. The product-page link remains the purchase route where offered.

Why does the theme preview succeed while the website action fails?

The preview can simulate success. The live website requires the connected storefront action and valid product data.
