Tracked product search and integrations
Search products observed by tracking or supplied by an existing product integration.
What it is
The standard Products search can find products recorded through visitor tracking. An existing website integration can supply its own product results instead. This older search path remains available alongside commerce-provider browsing.
Who uses it and why
- Operators find products to discuss or send to a visitor.
- Developers maintain existing product-search and basket integrations.
Where to find it
Operators use Products in the conversation workspace. The results depend on the website's product integration and whether commerce browsing replaces the standard panel.
Powerfront manages Restrict Product Search Range To (days) in Settings › General Settings › Admin. Users with the Settings or Developer role configure provider-backed browsing separately in Settings › Commerce › Commerce Providers.
How it works
With standard tracked-product search, you enter product search terms. INSIDE searches product names recorded for the current website and, when specified, subsite. The search range is based on the product's most recent tracked view.
Results can contain a name, image, product link and additional supplied details. Repeated results for the same product link are reduced to the first result. Products without links can remain distinct using their product identifiers.
A website-specific product-search integration takes precedence when it returns a result. An empty result from that integration remains an empty result; INSIDE does not automatically add historical matches. If the integration supplies no result at all, standard search can be used.
An existing integration can also provide the extra information needed for its custom basket behaviour.
Configure it
For standard search, make sure product views supply the intended names, links, images and product identifiers. Ask Powerfront to change Restrict Product Search Range To (days) if necessary.
For an existing feed or custom catalogue, confirm the search and basket behaviour with the integration owner. A connected commerce provider and its option to Replace the standard Products panel are configured separately.

Limits and good to know
- Standard search defaults to a seven-day tracked-view range. A product may disappear from search when no recent view qualifies.
- Historical tracking does not guarantee current price, stock or catalogue completeness. Check current store information before promising availability.
- Search returns pages; its default page size is 50 when none is supplied.
- Integration-supplied products may include price ranges, sizes and stock information. Unknown stock must not be read as zero stock.
- Feed formats, update timing and removal behaviour depend on the individual integration.

FAQ and troubleshooting
Why can I not find a product that is still on the website?
Standard search relies on recently tracked product views. The product may be outside the search range, or the website's custom integration may not return it.
Why are my results different from the store catalogue?
Tracked products reflect observed activity. Provider-backed browsing reads a connected catalogue. Check which source supplies your Products panel.
Why did an empty integration search not show historical results?
An empty result is an intentional result from that integration. Only the absence of an integration result allows standard fallback search.
Does this feature import every product feed automatically?
No general import schedule is established for this search path. Confirm the specific feed's coverage and update process with its integration owner.
