Avatar animation and reaction settings
Choose the avatar reaction buttons available to operators and visitors in configured 3D chat experiences.
What it is
Avatar Animations controls the reaction buttons offered in configured 3D chat experiences. Operators and visitors can have different available reactions. Avatars can also react to supported text messages, basket changes and purchases.
Who uses it and why
- Users with the Settings role choose which listed reaction buttons operators and visitors can use.
- Operators select reactions while chatting with a visitor.
- Visitors use the reaction buttons offered by their configured chat experience.
Where to find it
With the Settings role, open Settings › Chat › Avatar Animations. The list shows Operators, Visitors, Emoji, Name and Description.
Operators use the reaction picker associated with the 3D avatar scene in an open conversation. Visitor controls depend on their chat theme.
How it works
For an enabled avatar conversation, open the reaction picker and select an available emoji button. Its tooltip describes the action. INSIDE sends the reaction to the conversation and previews it in the operator's avatar scene.
Some reactions animate the sender; others involve both the sender and the other participant. The configured action determines what happens.
Supported public text messages can also trigger reactions. Internal comments and system messages do not use that message-reaction path. Tracked basket additions and sales can trigger further avatar events where configured.
Configure it
- Open Settings › Chat › Avatar Animations.
- Select or clear Operators for each reaction button you want operators to use.
- Select or clear Visitors for each reaction button you want visitors to use.
- Choose Save.
Initial selections come from each reaction's supplied defaults, so there is no single on-or-off default for the whole list.
Powerfront manages Enable 3D Avatars and Show 3D Avatars to Operators in Settings › General Settings › Admin. Ask Powerfront to enable and configure the service for your website. Operator display choices are Always, When Enabled on Visitor and Never.
Operators must also allow Show 3D Avatars in My Account and use a performance setting other than Low. The visitor's theme must support the experience for visitor reactions to be visible.

Limits and good to know
- The available catalogue comes from the configured avatar service. The available reactions can change.
- Website enablement alone does not guarantee that the service or reaction assets are available.
- The Operators and Visitors columns control offered buttons. They do not describe every automatic event reaction.
- A button selection and its local preview do not guarantee that every participant has an enabled 3D display.
- Reactions add visual expression. Check the conversation text and commerce information for the underlying customer request or purchase.

FAQ and troubleshooting
Why is the reaction picker missing?
Check that the website has a configured 3D experience, that Show 3D Avatars is on and that Limit FPS is not Low. Powerfront can review website enablement.
Why can visitors use a reaction that operators cannot?
The Visitors and Operators selections are separate. Ask someone with the Settings role to review both columns in Avatar Animations.
Why does the reaction list not load?
It needs the configured external avatar catalogue. If the list remains empty or loading, ask Powerfront to check the avatar service.
Why did I see a preview but the visitor did not?
The visitor may not have an enabled avatar theme, or the service or assets may not have loaded. Their display is configured separately from your local preview.
Can I assume every purchase produces the same animation?
No. The reaction depends on the tracked event and the configured reaction definitions.
