What it is

Company Shows groups prerecorded videos into an ordered collection. You can give the show a name, thumbnail and tags, then share it with a visitor. These collections are separate from live broadcasts and their recordings.

Who uses it and why

  • Operators curate and share video collections relevant to a visitor.
  • Administrators grant video-management permissions and arrange video-feed availability with Powerfront.
  • Developers can use authorised show listing in an integration.
  • Visitors watch the videos through the shared show player.

Where to find it

Open the console's video-feed control to display Video Approvals, then choose Company Shows. Use Show to open Create Company Show.

Powerfront manages the feature configuration in Settings › General Settings › Video Feed. Your Settings role can manage operator permissions in Settings › Account › Operators.

How it works

  1. Create a show and enter its name.
  2. Add videos with Upload a video or Select from Library. Drag their thumbnails to set the order.
  3. Choose a thumbnail, or use the first video's thumbnail. Add an optional URL, subsite assignment, tags and Next Show.
  4. Choose Save. A new show created here starts Offline.
  5. Use Make Public or Make Private when you are ready to share it. Choose Share Show to copy its link.

The player moves through the collection and can advance when a video finishes. A share can also identify a particular video within the show. Views are counted for the show and its shares.

Configure it

Ask Powerfront to enable the video-feed setup. With the Settings role and the required operator permissions, give the relevant operators the Video Feed role and Manage Company Video Feed permission. Desktop uploads also have an Upload Video on Desktop permission.

Use Take Offline to make a show unavailable through the visitor playback paths. Delete also prevents visitor playback of that show. Private is a publication status that still permits shared playback; it does not ask the visitor to sign in.

Limits and good to know

  • A name and at least one video are required. The editor also needs a thumbnail before saving.
  • Operators restricted to selected subsites must assign a subsite when creating a show.
  • Team filtering follows the creator's current teams. A later team-membership change can therefore affect where the show appears in management searches.
  • Filtering or removing a show does not establish that its underlying video files have been deleted.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Why can I not open Company Shows?

Ask Powerfront to check that the video-feed setup is enabled. Ask someone with the Settings role and the required operator permissions to check your Video Feed role and Manage Company Video Feed permission.

Why does a new show not play for visitors?

The console saves new shows as Offline. Review the collection, then choose the required publication status.

Does Private require a visitor password?

No. Shared playback of private shows is supported without a visitor password prompt. Use Take Offline to stop visitor playback of the show.

Why does saving require a subsite?

An operator whose access is restricted to part of the website's subsites must choose a subsite for the show.
